Welcome to the APAEG website

Association for the Aid of Transplanted Children and their families

The APAEG provides accommodation for the family of a child who is to receive a liver transplant in the pediatric surgery unit of the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG). Since 1997, the APAEG has provided furnished apartments near the HUG at very advantageous prices. The nature of the care means that the duration of the stays can vary in length and are renewable depending on availability.

”Dear Mrs. and Mr. Genton,

By this letter, I would like to thank you very sincerely for your commitment to our children with liver disease and to us, their families, their parents.[…] It is therefore thanks to you and your apartments that we have been able to find ourselves with the family […] This is how during these 2 weeks of school holidays for the children we were able, as a family, to prepare and support ourselves for this complicated operation.”

”Dear,

We have learned that the time has come for you to end the management of the APAEG apartments. For having benefited several times from a base in Geneva during various hospitalizations […] we would like to thank you and congratulate you for all this work accomplished during all these years!

How many distraught families have been able to be close to their sick child thanks to the Association and your wonderful management. […]

Merry Christmas and may the New Year be filled with hope for renewal.

Thanks and best wishes.”

”Dear Mrs. Genton, dear Mr. Genton,

[…] Over the past 30 years, you have both invested an incredible amount of time and energy in APAEG. We can only imagine the extent of your commitment!

On behalf of the EVLK (Association des Parents d’Enfants Malades du Foie) and on behalf of all parents of children with liver disease, we would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you for finding the apartments […] Thank you for the many times you have personally accompanied parents […].

For us families, it was and still is a great relief to be able to use an apartment so close to the hospital. […]

We wish you good luck for the coming period. […]

On behalf of all EVLK parents,

From the bottom of the heart.”
